Neo-Lisa, Non Static Impressionism

Updated: Mar 13

Non Static-Impressionism (Blurry) painting titled "Neo-Lisa", By Hyper-Realist Artist Eric Buechel. Size: 32" x 48" x 1 1/2" Oil On Canvas Airbrush and Brush/Blurred Painting 2015 .

In this painting I've blurred the image in order to make each of

the elements equally as important.

This painting has been my most challenging work so far, pushing the boundaries of my artistic abilities and testing my patience at every turn. The hardest aspect of creating it was simplifying the eyes while ensuring they still followed the viewer, a delicate balance that required both technical skill and an intuitive understanding of visual perception. The eyes are often considered the windows to the soul, and in this piece, I aimed to capture a depth of emotion and connection that transcends mere representation. In the initial stages, I found myself overwhelmed by the complexity of the human gaze. I experimented with various techniques, trying to distill the intricate details into a more abstract form without losing the essence of expression. The challenge was to create eyes that were not only visually striking but also capable of engaging the audience, drawing them into the narrative of the painting. As I worked, I realized that the simplification process was not just about reducing detail; it was about conveying a sense of life and awareness. I played with different shapes and colors, adjusting the curvature of the eyelids and the placement of the pupils to achieve that elusive quality of following the viewer. Each adjustment required careful consideration, as even the slightest alteration could shift the entire emotional tone of the piece. Ultimately, this endeavor taught me valuable lessons about the intricacies of perception and the power of suggestion in art. The eyes, though simplified, became a focal point that invited viewers to engage with the painting on a deeper level. I found that the more I honed this element, the more the painting began to resonate, creating a dialogue between the artwork and its audience. This experience has not only shaped my current work but also influenced my approach to future projects, reminding me of the profound impact that a single detail can have in the realm of visual storytelling.
